Refund & cancellation policy

We want you to feel confident about every purchase. This page covers what's refundable, what isn't, and how to ask for a refund. Plain language first; legal language follows.

The plain-English summary

  • Map Pack & Explorer Pack — full refund within 7 days of purchase if you haven't used the pack's gated features (career-map re-runs, additional college views beyond your free quota, etc.). Once you start using the pack, it's consumed and the purchase becomes non-refundable.
  • Expert Session — full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled session. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows are not refundable.
  • Refund timeline — once approved, refunds are processed within 7 business days to the original payment method via Razorpay.

1. Map Pack (Tier 1) — refund terms

The Map Pack unlocks unlimited career-map re-runs for the validity window published on /pricing.

  • Eligible for full refund — if requested within 7 days of purchase AND no additional career maps have been generated (i.e. you only used your free map).
  • Not eligible for refund — after 7 days, OR after even one paid re-run has been generated (the value has been consumed).

2. Explorer Pack (Tier 2) — refund terms

The Explorer Pack unlocks unlimited institution profile views, side-by-side compare sessions, and unlimited shortlists for the validity window.

  • Eligible for full refund — if requested within 7 days of purchase AND fewer than 3 premium college profile views have been counted in your usage log (a profile view is counted after spending the configured time threshold on the page).
  • Not eligible for refund — after 7 days, OR after the usage threshold above has been exceeded.

3. Expert Session (Tier 3) — cancellation & refund

Expert Sessions are 60-minute 1:1 calls scheduled at a mutually agreed time after purchase.

  • Full refund — if you cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the session.
  • 50% refund — if you cancel between 24 hours and 2 hours before the session start time. This covers the counsellor's preparation time on your profile.
  • No refund — if you cancel within 2 hours of the start time, or do not show up.
  • Reschedule (free) — you may reschedule once at no charge, provided the request is made at least 12 hours before the original session.

If our counsellor needs to cancel for any reason, we will reschedule at no additional cost, or refund in full at your option.

4. Failed or duplicate payments

If Razorpay charges you but the pack does not activate (e.g. a network failure between Razorpay's acknowledgement and our server), the charge is automatically refunded by Razorpay within 7 business days. If you don't see the refund in that window, email us at [email protected] with your Razorpay payment ID and we'll investigate.

5. How to request a refund

  1. Email [email protected] with the subject line “Refund request”.
  2. Include: your registered email, the Razorpay payment ID (from your purchase email), the pack purchased, and the reason for the refund request.
  3. We respond to refund requests within 3 business days. If approved, the refund is processed to the original payment method via Razorpay and typically reflects in 5–7 business days.

6. Disputes & escalation

If you're not satisfied with a refund decision, you can escalate to our Grievance Officer through the channels listed on the Grievance Officer page.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our pack structure evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the platform. Refund eligibility for a given purchase is determined by the policy that was in effect at the time of purchase.
